Well NORTH battled tonight against
a very good
Kennett team, taking this match 3-0 in 3 very competitive
games. This is same Kennett team that gave Pennsbury all
they could handle last weekend, losing 25-23; 25-19. NORTH
had to work hard , but putting them a way in 3 games speaks
volumes for the talent of this group from NORTH.
Game #1 saw Kennett ahead most of the way, only to see
NORTH take control when Layne Adams entered the game providing
NORTH with a badly needed spark, leading NORTH to a come from
behind 25-23 win.
Game #2 , saw a much more relaxed NORTH squad take an early
lead , taking the Kennett middle out of her power game with
touches on almost everything she hit. It was the NORTH seniors
that came through, a great service run by Krysta Mee , great
kills by both Jill Batten and Aly Hinton, and great blocking
and hitting by Colleen Kluber. This experienced group were the
difference.
Game #3, saw NORTH jump to a big lead midway in the game,
giving Coach Flaherty a chance mix up the lineup. Kate Campbell
came in to an immediate kill and a few defensive touches, as
NORTH held on to put this game away.
Now it is time to relax and enjoy the fruits of all your hard
work. You stand at the point in the season you all have been
working toward, you all should be very proud. Stay TOGETHER;
